Conceiving
When plans for a family hit a snag, couples can often be confused and worried. Don’t be. We are here to help you. SCRC is the most experienced fertility center in California. We can help you sort out all your options in an easy-to-understand way. But first, here are some things you should know:
You are not alone.
One in six couples—or about 7 US million couples in their reproductive years—face fertility problems. By seeking help with SCRC’s experienced fertility experts and learning as much as you can about infertility and your options, you are taking positive steps toward achieving your family goals.
Don’t delay.
Although the medical definition of infertility is the inability to conceive after 12 months of regular, unprotected sexual intercourse, couples should seek consultation if pregnancy hasn’t occurred after six months–especially if there are other problems like irregular periods, previous surgery, chronic disorders, etc. Call us at (866) 312-0771 for an initial consultation; it will help you figure out what you need to do next.
A woman’s age is key.
A woman’s peak fertility is during her 20s; after age 34, her success rate at conceiving drops dramatically. Therefore, the best course of fertility treatment must also be based on a woman’s age. A 38-year-old woman, for example, may not have time, in terms of reproductive years, to experiment with less aggressive treatment options. We can help you determine whether more advanced therapies should be considered.
IVF is not the only option.
In vitro fertilization—in which eggs and sperm are combined in a dish to enhance fertilization—is an important fertility option, but not the only one. Some couples will only need “low-tech” assistance to become pregnant, while others will achieve success through surgical fertility treatments, egg donation, or other methods. With nearly 25 years of experience, SCRC can help couples make the best decision based on their individual needs.
