LOGOS

Greetings from your Southern California Reproductive Center Family,

We are writing to you regarding the outbreak of the respiratory disease called COVID-19 and our preparedness efforts for this public health issue. SCRC Medical Group, PC and its affiliated companies (“SCRC”) want to reassure you that the health and safety of our patients, staff and community is our top priority. Below is information about COVID-19, what we are doing and what you can do to help.

What is COVID-19?

Centers for Disease Control (“CDC”) is responding to an outbreak of a respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and now has been detected in over 100 locations internationally, including in the United States. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are common in people and many different species of animals. Reported illnesses have ranged from very mild (including some with no reported symptoms) to severe, including illness resulting in death. We are doing our part by following public health guidelines for safety precautions, screening and reporting of COVID-19.

We recommend you stay informed of the changing situation by visiting the CDC website.

For FAQs regarding pregnancy, please visit the CDC website here.

Steps We Are Taking

We are following the CDC guidelines on infection control including:

  • Ensuring routine disinfecting of all areas of the practice
  • Practicing good handwashing
  • Encouraging our patients to follow CDC guidelines for handwashing
  • Setting up hand sanitizer stations for staff and patients to use upon arrival and throughout their visit
  • Recommending wearing and making available masks, gloves and other personnel protected equipment (PPE) consistent with CDC guidelines
  • Updating our protocols and procedures based on the latest public health guidance

What You Can Do

You can help our efforts to maintain a healthy and safe environment for our patients and staff by:

  • Calling Ahead. Call ahead if you have symptoms (fever, cough, fatigue), been in contact with someone who has symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19 or if you have travelled internationally in the last 14 days before your appointment. We may reschedule your appointment to a later day or ask you to stay home and call your primary care physician. You may meet the criteria for screening for COVID-19 and we can direct you to the proper screening or care location, such an emergency department.
  • Rescheduling Your Appointment When Needed. You may need to reschedule your appointment to no sooner than 14 days after return if traveling internationally, if you have not experienced any symptoms such as fever, cough and/or respiratory issues during this time. It is important that you wait until your symptoms are fully resolved before visiting SCRC.
  • Coming Prepared to Your Appointment. Upon arrival to your appointment, inform the front desk if you have symptoms, been in contact with someone who has symptoms or tested positive for COVID-19 or have travelled internationally within 14 days of your appointment.

✓ We will ask all patients to complete a COVID-19 Screening and Consent form.
✓ As part of the screening process, we may ask to see your passport to confirm no international travel in the past 14 days, especially to areas the CDC finds high risk (China, Iran, South Korea, Italy, Hong Kong, and Europe).
✓ We may ask you to wear a mask if available to your appointment or provide you with one.
✓ We may ask you to leave the office and go to the emergency department or other screening or care setting, to return home, make a telehealth/telephone appointment and/or rescheduling your office appointment.

  • Calling 911 if it is an Emergency. If you believe you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 and inform them of your symptoms.
  • Practicing Good Handwashing. The CDC recommends practicing good handwashing. For more information, please watch the CDC video on handwashing.

If you are unsure whether to reschedule your appointment or have any questions, please call us at 310-277-2393.

Sincerely,
Your SCRC Family
