In Vitro Fertilization in Santa Monica

In vitro fertilization is one of the most widely used tools used to assist those who are struggling to become pregnant. The Latin term “in vitro” means “in glass.” The egg or oocyte is combined with the sperm in a specially prepared laboratory dish. The fertilized eggs are monitored for a number of days during the beginning stages of development. The eggs develop by division of cells into a blastocyst, which typically forms at around 5 days. Once the embryos have developed, the embryologist identifies the most viable embryos for transfer into the uterus, freezing for future use or other medical purposes.

The highly-skilled fertility specialists at Southern California Reproductive Center provide many other services to help women become pregnant. The first step to overcoming infertility is to have an accurate diagnosis. Our physicians and staff have the training and equipment to make the right diagnosis and help you on your way to becoming a parent. If you are a same-sex couple looking to start a family, we can provide you with information about ways to have children as well. Our caring staff wants to help you achieve your dream of parenthood. Contact us today for further information.
